My name is Jennifer Dudek. I am the new school guidance counselor at New Hope Christian School. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moody Bible Institute and received my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
I love helping children and adults find healing from past hurts and traumas along with helping them find healthier ways of thinking about situations and coping with struggles. At NCHS, I mainly help students with understanding their emotions and feelings along with how much of our actions and behaviors are impacted by our thoughts. I mainly use cognitive behavioral therapy along with focused mindfulness and other relaxation techniques.
My background in counseling is working with trauma and suicide prevention and intervention with teens and adults, along with working with children ages 5 and up using play and art therapy. Outside of NHSC, I work in a private practice at Sherman Counseling along with one day a week as a counselor at Appleton Alliance Church. Most of my caseload in my own private practice consists of trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.
I love seeing the ways God can bring true healing through counseling. God has created our bodies and minds in such beautiful and intricate ways. It is my privilege to be able to help students understand healthy ways of dealing with stress and struggles. I am very excited to work with these students.
