I have had the honor and privilege to work with New Hope Christian School in many capacities since my children started preschool with Mrs. Prewitt in 2009. From volunteering in the classroom, cooking Hot Lunch, working as a paraprofessional in the Kindergarten classroom, to now working as an Assistant Teacher, Dyslexia Screener, and Dyslexia Trainer. This is the school we call home, and are thankful God placed this school on our path.
My passion is help students use the talents God gave each one of them, and use those talents to access learning. This sometimes means using alternative techniques and tools to acquire knowledge that are different from the traditional model of learning. We are each unique image-bearers of Christ, so it makes sense why we may need individualized opportunities to present our knowledge. New Hope Christian School recognizes each student as one of these unique image-bearers, and strives to meet a child where they are on his or her academic journey.
My educational career consists of a B.S. in Human Biology from UW-Green Bay, and Master’s of Education in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach to teach reading and spelling to students with Dyslexia. In addition, I am a certified Dyslexia Screener to identify students that need specific Orton-Gillingham training to learn to read and spell correctly.
I have two wonderful daughters who attend New Hope Christian School. My husband and I are extremely blessed to have a place that our children can go and get every single one of their individual needs met.
In our free time, we love to spend time with family playing games, watching movies, and cheering for our favorite sports teams. Our annual camping trip with all of our extended families is the highlight of our summer.
