Hello! I am Melissa Signoretti and my role at New Hope Christian School is Physical Education Teacher for Kindergarten – 3rd Grade and Staff Physical Therapist. I launched my career in physical therapy in 1999 following my education at Concordia University—Wisconsin and The Pennsylvania State University.
I spent my entire physical therapy career thus far working in an outpatient, orthopedic clinic setting working with people of all ages. In addition to general orthopedics I developed a niche practice specializing in Men’s and Women’s Health. I absolutely love the mechanics of the body and analyze how and why people move the way they do. It brings me great joy to be a part of the recovery process and see people achieve their goals and return to function. Three reasons why I LOVE being a physical therapist are:
1) Being a physical therapist allows you to be a detective when assessing patients and their physical problems.
2) You get to use the God given skills you’ve learned to help heal patients’ physical maladies.
3) You get to learn a lot from your patients and to go home tired after a day of work with the satisfaction that you made a real difference in the life of one or more people that day.
Along with providing physical therapy services to the children of New Hope Christian School, I am also teaching Physical Education for K-3rd Grade. This is a new venture for me and I am excited to work with the children of NHCS and incorporate my physical therapy skills/knowledge in PE class. It allows me to assess movement and mechanical dysfunctions so I can coordinate with their teacher and parent(s) to work with them one-on-one. We are focusing on basic locomotor skills, overall strength and endurance, core stability, flexibility, balance, coordination, and agility in addition to playing some fun games!
I married my husband, John Signoretti, on September 9, 2006. We started our married life in Charlottesville, Virginia. We built our dream home and had our first child, Julianna, in 2010. Our life was turned upside down following a medical issue within our family and we made the decision to move to Wisconsin in 2012 to be closer to my family. We are now settled in Neenah and have completed our family with the birth of our son, Anthony, in 2015. As a family we enjoy biking, hiking, exploring the great outdoors, gardening, and spending quality time together as a family.
I am excited to be a part of the NHCS team where we love God, praise Jesus, and love children.
